I just want to know how to edit car names with X GXT Editor 2.1.
My current GTA IV version is 1.0.7.0
Please help me.

After opening .gxt file, press Ctrl + F, type [Car Name] without brackets (eg : Admiral), select 'Item's Text' in options and press Find button.

When find close the find window, double click on selected (found) item, change the 'Real Text' to whatever you want, press Enter key when you're done. Press Ctrl + S to save file.

Yeah you see that ever since update 5 (AKA 1.0.0.4 or 1.0.5.0) changed the code so now the car names a scrambled and I can't read it because I'm using patch 1.0.7.0

  • Open vehicles.ide
  • Copy your vehicle's Game name ( eg. ADMIRAL, EMPEROR2, INGOT )
  • Open .gxt file
  • Press Ctrl + F, Paste that name
  • Select Item's Name in Options
  • Check Match Case and Match Exactly
  • Press Find


NOTE : Make sure the direction is correct
